INTRODUCING PAVEDOCK AND THE PAVEDOCK ASSISTANT COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A continuous supply of mix is essential for producing a high-quality, even pavement. That's why Vogele developed the PaveDock Assistant for its “Dash 3” generation of pavers. This exceedingly efficient system greatly facilitates communication between the paver operator 1 and the driver of the feed vehicle, and it ensures that 2 mix is supplied to the paver safely and without jolts. Used in combination with the PaveDock push-rollers, PaveDock Assistant 3 makes a major contribution to process safety during the transfer of mix.

PaveDock: Effectively Minimizing Impact

As an alternative to the standard oscillating push-rollers, VOGELE also offers the PaveDock sprung push-rollers. They absorb the impact of the feed vehicle even more effectively and reliably, thus ensuring that no jolts are transmitted to the freshly paved surface and preventing irregularities.

In combination with PaveDock Assistant, the sprung push-rollers maximize safety during the transfer of mix: a sensor installed in the push-rollers detects when the feed vehicle has docked and is connected to the paver. A signal light automatically illuminates and directly instructs the driver to stop. This allows the driver of the feed vehicle to react immediately.

PaveDock Assistant: The Non-Verbal Communication System

- Dock: Truck approaches the paver's material hopper.

- Stop: Truck must stop, it has reached the paver.

- Raise dump box: Truck raises the dump box to transfer material into the hopper.

- Lower dump box: Truck lowers the dump box.

- Drive off: Truck drives away from the paver.

- Paver is moving: This symbol can appear simultaneously with all other symbols.

PaveDock Assistant is a communication system between the paver operator and the driver of the feed vehicle. It ensures quick, reliable and efficient transfer of mix to the paver. Signal lights on the paver and the associated control buttons on the ErgoPlus 3 console are key components of this communication system.

The paver has two sets of signal lights, mounted on the right and left of the hardtop. With these lights, the paver operator can give 1  signals to the driver of the feed vehicle without any misunderstandings, clearly indicating the actions to be performed (e.g., reverse, stop, raise dump box).

There are two lights on each side, each in an elevated position, ensuring that all signals are clearly visible to the driver of the feed vehicle from all angles.
