ADVANTAGES OF THE BENNINGHOVEN CONCRETE MIXING PLANT'S WEIGHING AND MIXING UNIT
Benninghoven prioritizes the harmonious integration of quality, safety, and flexibility in its ECO series asphalt mixing plants. A key design element of this plant series is the standardization of major components, including the aggregate weighing and mixing unit, to ISO-compliant container dimensions. This facilitates optimized logistical solutions, ensuring simplified transport, enhanced user-friendliness, and the preservation of optimal product quality throughout the delivery process.
Customers can choose from four distinct color schemes for their ECO mixing plant, ranging from standard to customized options:
Color A | Color B |
Color C | Color D |

ADVANTAGE 1: CAN BE EXPANDED INDIVIDUALLY
Key customer benefit: The advanced BUS system enables easy and flexible modular expansion of the mixing plant.
Added value from the start: Intelligent design with pre-configured interfaces simplifies the retrofitting of features according to customer requirements. Simply remove the cover and connect; no welding or structural changes are necessary, ensuring convenience and efficiency.

ADVANTAGE 2: MODERN WORKING - PERFECT MATERIAL MIXING
BENNINGHOVEN ensures high process quality and reliable functionality.
Precise weighing of virgin minerals and fillers, without disruption, is achieved through vented scales and a pressure-compensated geometry design, protecting the equipment from pressure surges.
1. Filler weighing hopper |
2. Large mixer design - Optimal fill level (<60%) prevents mixer overfilling - High-quality materials = designed for extreme loads - Optimum wear resistance |
3. The asphalt mix is transported to the storage silos via a skip hoist or a material transfer chute. |
ADVANTAGE 3: ENSURES SAFETY THANKS TO THE SWITCH LOCK SYSTEM
The key transfer system ensures a high level of occupational safety for all personnel working within the mixing plant.
- Intuitive operation
- Fully mechanical, i.e., always functional regardless of power supply
- Minimal risk of accidental release
1. The inspection cover bolt can only be removed when the key is inserted.
2. The key can only be removed when the bolt is in place.
3. To start the mixing plant, this key must then be inserted in another location (control panel).
Absolute safety: The mixing plant is designed with an advanced safety mechanism that prevents operation when the inspection cover is open, ensuring maximum safety for the operator.
Key transfer system: A mechanical key-operated locking mechanism ensures that the mixing plant can only be operated when activated correctly. The key can be used to switch the system on/off or to unlock functions. Notably, the key can only be removed when the mixing plant is in a safe state (switch off, lock closed and locked), eliminating any potential hazards.
ADVANTAGE 4: OPTIMIZE TRANSPORTATION
The new weighing and mixing unit is designed according to the dimensions of the container, which optimizes transport, allowing easy transport by truck, ship or train to any location. It is therefore no surprise that the Benninghoven ECO mixing plant is also known as the “globetrotter”.
ADVANTAGE 5: PLUG & WORK
To facilitate convenient and efficient relocation of the mixing plant, Benninghoven offers two electrical system options: a plug-in system and a fixed wiring system (Plug & Work). The Plug & Work system provides the significant advantage of complete pre-installation and pre-wiring of all plant components at the factory (including electrical wiring and piping). This solution not only simplifies on-site handling but also significantly reduces installation time.
ADVANTAGE 6: EXTREME ACCESSIBILITY
Intelligent design: Operator-friendliness is central to the weighing and mixing unit's design, ensuring convenient access to all installed equipment. This is achieved through a design that eliminates protruding cylinders, obstacles, etc. A circumferential walkway and an 800 mm wide working platform further enhance accessibility.
ADVANTAGE 7: QUALITY LIGHTING SYSTEM
All work and maintenance areas are optimally illuminated with energy-saving LED technology.
ADVANTAGE 8: LARGE MAINTENANCE DOOR LOCATED ON THE MIXER DRUM
The mixing drum is equipped with special inspection and maintenance doors.
Inspection covers and maintenance doors closed
Easy maintenance access: The mixing drum is equipped with a 600 mm x 1200 mm maintenance door that can be easily removed when required, allowing quick and convenient inspection and maintenance of the mixer.
Optimal safety: The key transfer system ensures absolute safety during operation (compliant with EN536 and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC).
Durable design: The maintenance door features a fully sealed, 100% corrosion-resistant design, with components like hinges, handles, and locking mechanisms specially protected.

ADVANTAGE 9: INTUITIVE, SCIENTIFIC LUBRICATION
Simple and efficient lubrication: All areas requiring regular lubrication are clearly marked with a color code for easy identification by the operator. Lubrication intervals are encoded directly on each component, adhering to industry-standard color coding, ensuring convenient and accurate maintenance. | |
ƯU ĐIỂM 9: BẢO DƯỠNG DỄ DÀNG
Benninghoven asphalt mixing plants require regular maintenance. To simplify this process and enhance operational efficiency, the weighing and mixing unit is equipped with appropriate connections.
Central pneumatic maintenance unit (oiling and separating/filtering, safety valve)
Electrical connections for tools and maintenance work.
